Entries from June 2009
This is just a quick update, that my blog’s web address is changing to: http://joannasfoto.com/blog/
Please, update your links and visit me at new location!
New blog is really continuation of this one. Even they look similar and the only thing is the location has changed.
The time has came, where I think I need functionality of self-hosted blog, rather than free and sometimes limiting version.
Thank you for your support, for all nice comments left so far- I hope for many more to come!
Any time you may have question about my blog, or my work- please, send me an email (joannasphotography[at!]gmail.com)

Card with envelope
I think I should have put that in my Etsy shop banner!
I know that many people send just an e-card, that very often gets lost in the recipient mailbox. How do I know that- because I receive those too and unfortunately see them only when I receive them. And I like to hold on to words sent to me by friends and family. Those are almost like photographs to me- they contain very important memories for me, I like to look back at them, read them and remember that person who had sent it to me.
This is main reason, why I have introduced new product to my Etsy store: photo greeting cards.
They are blank inside, but can be customized, of course.
Printed on very nice, smooth in texture, 100% cotton archival paper.
I have to admit, I myself was really surprised how well those photographs look on this paper!!!
Please, visit my store and check out Cards section to see more- I am trying to add some new almost every day!

Today I just wanted to share my experience with some nice web tools, that make my life on Etsy easier.
I have heard about Etsy Hacks few times before I tried it. I am sort of skeptical with some of additions to my browser. I think it comes from the fact, that I am afraid one day I will have so much add on’s and plug ins, that my browser is not going to take it anymore! I think- this is something left from using the previous one…
Anyway, these days I am happy Mozilla Firefox user (highly recommending ) and to add to my happiness- I am also happy Etsy Hacks user.
With few add on’s from Etsy Hacks I can easily edit my listing on Etsy (without going through “Your Etsy” tab), list 5 images at one time, without waiting for each individual to load. And most of all-especially foe heavy forum users- I love, that Etsy Hacks marks threads I’ve visited, marks those I’ve posted in and even adds a little star, if there is response from admin in any of those threads. Pretty cool, right?
Of course- each of these setting needs to be added as a individual module, but it takes a second to load and saves so much time down the road!
Don’t forget, that first you have to downolad and install Greasemonkey script. And than- add whatever you feel may make it easier and more fun to use Etsy!

After thinking about it for some time- I have decided to open a portfolio website on Zenfolio.
It’s very flexible site, allowing me to display all my photographs, categorized according to different themes and with option to order prints directly from the preview page.
Please, visit my Zenfolio Page (www.joannakapicaphotography.zenfolio.com) and leave a comment in guest book if you wish!
Thank you
